Nobody here agrees with me - BUT - I find that using icons is both faster and easier to learn than 48 keyboard shortcuts.Ģ. I have 7 home made toolbars with 48 icons for tools, dialogs, dockers, etc. Customization ! Customization ! Customization ! Color Range is a poor version of Color Mask in Photopaint. It's also smaller than the one in Photopaint.Ĥ. Neither does it have an interactive histogram. The Curves dialog in Photoshop does not have a "linear" mode. It's stabbing in the dark if you want to gradually merge two layers by putting a gradient on a layer mask.ģ. This makes Photoshop virtually useless for what I do. I can't learn 48 shortcuts and I can't read the top level menu.Ģ.
However, it too, has serious shortcomings for me.ġ. I use it primarily for difficult Selections and for Content Aware Fill. I certainly agree with Bob that Photoshop has the best set of tools. The Curves dialog looks dinky compared to the one in PhotoPaint. Nether does it have an interactive gradient tool. It does not have a Lab color mode or even Lab Curves. However - for what I do - PaintShopPro has serious shortcomings. I also like the PaintShopPro photography newsgroup and the people who post there. I like the look and feel of PaintShopPro.
